SHEER HEART ATTACK

Sheer Heart Attack is the third studio album by the British rock band Queen, released on 8 November 1974 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Recordsin the United States. Digressing from the progressive themes featured on their first two albums, this album featured more conventional rock tracks and marked a step towards the "classic" Queen sound. It was produced by the band and Roy Thomas Baker and launched Queen to mainstream popularity in the UK and throughout the world. -Wikipedia

2007 - The album remains a perfect example of their baroque and roll.

Sheer Heart Attack is flawless ... this sense of scale, combined with the heavy guitars, pop hooks, and theatrical style, marks the true unveiling of Queen, making Sheer Heart Attack as the moment where they truly came into their own

1975 - Sheer Heart Attack is still, like its two predecessors, a handsomely glossy construction. If it’s hard to love, it’s hard not to admire: This band is skilled, after all, and it dares.

It has some high points, but there are just not enough really memorable songs.

2017 - It’s bonkers in its diversity; an amazing grab bag made by these four great talents fighting against each other. I find it a really compelling album because of that.

2011 - Here Queen stops trying to throw the everything and the kitchen sink into each song, instead spinning off each strong idea -- piano-driven balladry, Noel Coward pastiches, overblown widescreen overtures, gonzo breakneck metal riffage that anticipates thrash by a decade

Sheer Heart Attack is my least favourite of Queen’s peak trio of mid-1970s albums, but it’s still relentlessly entertaining.

2011 - Inarguably one of the band’s best albums, Sheer Heart Attack might be an ideal introduction for anyone unfamiliar with this sect of rock royalty, potential for cardiac arrest be damned.

There’s still some fairly bland, bloated classic rock, but they start getting really into the catchy, fun, epically harmonic, theatrical rock that they’re often known for.

2016 - it is without a doubt one of their best. It combines the hard rock attitude of the mid 1970s with the progressive orchestral sound of Queen.
