Morrison Hotel

Morrison Hotel is the fifth studio album by American rock band the Doors, released February 9, 1970 by Elektra Records. Following the use of brass and string arrangements recommended by producer Paul A. Rothchild on their previous album, The Soft Parade, the band returned to their original blues-rock style and was largely seen as a return to form for the band. The Doors entered Elektra Sound Recorders in Los Angeles in November 1969 to record the album which is divided into two separately titled sides; "Hard Rock Cafe" and "Morrison Hotel". The group included session bassists Lonnie Mack and Ray Neapolitan on the album's songs. - Wikipedia

2016 - When they returned to the studio to record the follow-up LP, Morrison Hotel, they were leaner, tougher and more focused than they had been since their 1967 debut.

2015 - Morrison’s lyrics portray a sense of maturity, while musically the group moved towards a more roots-focused rock sound, shedding any remnants of psychedlia from their first four albums.

2007 - This album is just typical Doors material. Mostly blues, but it explores some other genres, even having a mild psychedelic feel with Waiting For The Sun and others.

2011 - Morrison Hotel is raunchy, energetic, and explosive. It is bar band music at its best. It remains a superior testament to one of rock’s enduring bands.

2013 - Vocals & drums may drive this Blues machine, but it’s the keyboards that float it.
